Upon completion of residency Doctor Oaks felt it important to get a better understanding of medicine and Podiatry abroad. He relocated himself to Yakima, Washington where he could provide to those that could not provide care for themselves. He was involved in restructuring of clinical protocols providing advanced care to those he treated. It was then that he was able to learn the business of medicine so that he could understand how to get the greatest care for his patients in the most affordable manner.
After two years time away from his native Utah he decided to return so that he could provide care to those of the greater Salt Lake and Ogden basins while being able to be around family and friends.
