The diabetic Foot
The diabetic foot is of important concern to your podiatrist because diabetes attacks many of the important functions of the foot, ankle, and leg. Arteries can be negatively affected by plaque in arteries blocking vital blood flow. Nerves can show decreased sensation, muscle control, sweating, and position sense. Skin can show evidence of thinning, erosion or ulcerations.
